Hi, I have bought a Panasonic TX-49FX700B TV with Freeview Play and would like to record programmes rather than solely rely on catch up all the time.
It comes with PVR and I assumed that putting a 32GB USB stick in the HDD slot would work. When I tried to format the stick the TV says it's not compatible.

I don't want to buy a DVR at £200+ as I thought a recording option would be built in.

I have an old Sony SVR HDT500 recorder/receiver which would be ideal to record onto but I'm not sure if I can.

Any help much appreciated!
Thanks

A quick glance at the product sheet (and probably your user manual) states you can only use an external USB Flash drive or HDD with a capacity of a least 160GB.
A USB HDD is better for PVR use.
No you cannot use your SVR.

Thanks very much JayCee. The user manual that came with it is pretty basic - noted re 160GB capacity required.
Cheers.

Is it possible to watch a different channel to one being recorded using a USB HDD?

Thanks
