Just set up new (Wharfedale) digi Freview box. It has separate scart socket for connecting to video. However, once all set up cannot record using my Video Recorder. Have connected in accordnace with instructions, ie aerial inout to digi box and output from there to TV screen, scart lead from digi to TV and another from digi to VHS Rec/player.
Still can't record from Freeview unless rec via AV with Freeview box on & tuned to relevant channel. So can't watch anything else (terrestial or not).Any advice welcome, please. Gus

With the Freeview box VCR Scart connected to your VCRs AV2 scart...select this input using the VCRs remote control (it will be marked as input select or use the VCRs prog minus button to go 5,4,3,2,1,AV2,AV1 etc) and whatever channel the Freeview box is on is the one which will be recorded...to watch another channel use your TV remote to select analogue progs 1-5....you care aware you cannot record 1 Freeview channel and watch a different one?

As JC has already said that is the ONLY way it works! The box must be on to record to videotape and will only record the selected (watched) channel. If you require to watch terrestial while recording then use your TV remote to select terrestial.

If you want to watch another freeview channel while recording you'll need either a single tuner PVR (retaining the wharfedale) or buy a dual tuner PVR.
