recording feeview and freesat when TV in standby

I am looking to buy a TV where I can record feeview and freesat when in standby.

The forums seem to suggest it does not work, whilst the sales reps say it does, but can’t demo it.

I went in to currys to get a tv and the Samsung sales rep and his trainer both felt it should work but were not 100% sure, nor could they show a demo, as all the pics are fed via HDMI and they said you can only set a recording via the guide.

They even called their head trainer who said it should ?

Surely this is black and white. Either it works or doesn’t work, and if it should work, but doesn’t then it’s is a fault!

Does anybody have a definitive answer? Samsung what’s your view?

You can record dvbt2 (for dvbs2 channels you need pcmcia card) channels without any issues. You can program channel in guide which you wanna record and you can turn off your TV. TV will record them on your hdd which you plug to your TV.
Also it depends if in your country you can do PVR and timeshift from your antena. Because in some country's is disabled by default, because of local law
