Does anyone know if it is posible to record straight from a Sky+ box to a laptop pc.
Can I connect a cable from the "D" type on the Sky+ box direct to the serial input of my PC. If not how can it be done ?

It can't be done. The only way to do it would be by sampling the audio and video coming out of the box.

If your laptop has a TV in (either coax or s-video) you could do it with some recording software - connect the Sky+ box via RF or s-video to the laptop and you can then record the output from the box onto the laptop.
