hey. just bought a toshiba sd220 and have it conected to my tv via a scart lead and connected to my stereo via the analogue leads. i have my mini disc connected to the dvd player via the optical out port but can't get a signal into it when playing an audio cd in my dvd player. anyone know what's going on? not sure if i have to unplug the analogue leads but wouldn't have thought so.
if anyone's got any ideas, please share. thanks...

set the dvd to output either "pcm" or "bitstream", something like that...

thanks for the reply. yeah i've tried that but still nothing. i would've thought you can have as many different output channels wired up as you like so i doubt unplugging the analogue leads will work either. maybe there's something wrong with the dvd player??

I had the same problem with my Toshiba DVD recorder, optical to mini disc.
    It registered NO COPY.
I altered the Tosh output from bitstream to PCM and it records OK
