Recording a program from the start

    Just read this line on another thread:

    "How do you think you are able to record a programme from the start when you press record half way through"

    Is that true?

    If so, I take it it will only work if you've been *watching* the program from that start as well?

    It only works if you have instant replay turned on, or are using live pause to view.

    Yep, effectively you have to have been on that channel.

    And it will only start recording from whatever your buffer is set to. If it is set to 30 minutes, it cannot record from the start of a movie that started 40 minutes ago, even if you have been watching from the start. It will only record the previous 30 minutes from the point when you pressed the record key.
