If I record a 5.1 Sky Movie broadcast using my Panny E60, will it playback in 5.1 on any other DVD player?

    Hi,

As far as I am aware - no settop DVD recorderable will record DD 5.1 - they are all DD 2.0 (Stereo).

Therefore the best you are going to get in channel seperation is by using a Dolby Pro-Logic or Pro-Logic II amp.

    Hope this helps ...

    TeeeRex.

No and you won't be able to playback in 5.1 on the E60 either.

There are no 5.1 capable DVD recorders as yet.

The component in/out is the US model specs - the European model will probably ditch component in for a SCART:(

Why did you tell me this, about to order Kit for my new house Projector , screen and DVD recorder was going for a PT500 projector & the E85 recorder.
Old DVD player has no component outputs .

Now do I wait for Panasonic to announce a newer model recorder?
Recording 5.1 from source sounds like the muts nuts for my home cinema.
