OK Guys & Gals, (hope Jimmy Saville doesn't mind)
I'm looking for a new DVD recorder with HDD. It must have all of the following requirements...

* At least 80gb of storage
* High Speed Dubbing
* Component (Progressive) Output (upscaling would be a bonus)
* RGB Scart In/Out
* Digital Output
* Freeview Tuner
* MP3/WMA/JPEG playback
* Multiformat Recording & Playback
* Multiregion Ready (or handset hack available)

Not too sure on budget - might stretch to £400. What would you choose or recommend? (i am particularly partial to Sony DVD recorders!)

Don't know about WMA or upscaling but the Panny EH60D should do all the rest. 200GB HDD too.
Obviously no recorder will be multi-region from the manufacturer themselves but many places sell them.

Also Sony HXD710. 160gb hard drive, freeview, component. No upscaling though. HXD910 pushes the hard drive to 200gb (I think). Has HDMI and upscaling as well, probably pushing your budget though...

Thanks for the input guys. I had just decided on the Sony when i discovered the new Pioneer models (530/630)
I can live without the digital tuner as i already have a Humax Freeview box.
Where is the cheapest place online (and in stock) you can buy the DVR530H?

Again, thanks for all the input.
I reviewed what i really needed (wanted) and could still not decide between the Sony or the Pioneer, so logically i then plumped for the Toshiba RDXS34!
Based on various reviews and opinions it seems like it will be a good machine.
The wealth of editing features makes it particularly attractive (i will be archiving stuff from SKY+)
