    Hi
I am new to this forum and it seems their is some good knowledge out there. I wish to know if I can get a DVD recorder with PS prefferably both PAL and NTSC, hacked or otherwise. I am awaiting a Plasma and just want the best picture possible but also want to be able to record. Thanks

The only one I have heard a news flash of is Kiss which is a Nordic DVD manufacturer. I am certain that they either have released or will within the next month or so a DVD recorder that can play back progressive scan via the component outputs (both PAL and NTSC). But also has component inputs!!!! I do not know whether the input can accept a progressive signal though. I doubt it to be honest. However should still be ok if you want to record DVD from something other than a DV Camcorder.

    Cheers,

    JP

Phillips DVDR100 MKII does both through it's VGA port, but if I remember correctly this only works with your own recordings

edit: found the article, it said that it can output pal proggresive for dvd movies, through upgraded firmware.
