    Hi Guys

I have been using Vista MCE with my FloppyDTV to record Freesat Sky for a while. I have been using the built in Microsoft MPEG2 decoders, but I am generally unhappy with the quality of the picture - its washed out and the contrast & brightness is too high.

Is there any way to edit these settings for this decoder?

Is there a better decoder that other FloppyDTV users use to give better results on Vista?.

This also applies when I play DVD's - the quality is far superior on a standard DVD player (I have a 26 inch LCD TV - HD Ready).

    Any help is appreciated

Aside from the Decoder choice, it would be interesting to hear what other changes can be made directly with the Floppy DTV card.

Most Tuner cards can be tweaked through registry settings or with tuner supplied PVR software. There is also dedicated software out there for improving your PQ - Have a google of 'Chris Tweak' software and you'll see what I mean.

So, I'm just wondering if there are any registry hacks out there to play around with the picture contrast, brightness, bitrate etc...

There is no possibility of tweaking contrast etc as the FloppyDTV tuner should be merely receiving the DVB stream & writing it unchanged to disk.
