If you don't have this yet, why not? What a great film... Hackman is fantastic. Edge of your seat stuff, great set pieces all very intelligent and plausible which makes it even more enjoyable. It makes 'Ocean's 11' look like a cartoon. The script is simply awesome, the dialogue had me smiling all the way through, and it all leads to a wonderful conclusion.

    Highly recommended.

Have to agree with you there pointon. Hackman is always watchable and in this case re-delivers the goodies with aplomb!
Looking forward to The Royal Tenenbaums.

P.S. Ocean's Eleven is kack, with an ending that really does Marvel!!

It's an okay movie that kind of losses the place at the end - just how many twist does a movie need????

Hackman and DeVito were top notch.

I wondered about this but me and Encaser seem to have similar tastes so I've just ordered it cheap from cd-wow :)

Although I just watched Ocean's Eleven for the first time and really enjoyed it - took a while to get going though and Julia Roberts was cack (as always).

I think you'll like it SG, it's not the usual blockbuster big hype film at all this. In fact, it's all pretty low-key with more subtlety of character class.
    I'm off to watch Fallen:devil:

Another vote here for Heist:) I thought it was excellent.

I have been tempted by Fallen a few times but never bought it due to some poor reviews.

Fallen is OK. Only saved from being a deserved straight to vid by having Denzel Washington star. Trys to have a suprising ending but it's really quite predictable. Not bad for a no brainer though.

I quite liked Fallen. Spoiler alert: It was seriously flawed in its, "Ooh Americans will be the main viewer so we better give the oh so difficult plot voice-over shovelling"!! It's a shame the slow brother wasn't given a more brutal finish as he was well played and could've served to further demonstrate the harshness of Azazal - made me wonder if the script/writer/director baulked at this? Also Gretta Milano spoke of 'others' in the know and I thought may be they should've been involved and/or some sort of research by Washington involving either her more or a church type - daemon/religion, who would know howw to off him...D'oh!
As it turned out, it would be nigh on impossible to kill Azazal using the let's try and give him no receptacle plan as anything living would do. D'oh, again.
Hobbes end plan choice was ironic and non-sensical in that he had God and the Devil/evil confirmed as existing and yet chose the suicide solution; damned if he won, damned if he lost. Right On:devil:
Apart from that, liked it! And would recommend viewing when very tired and feeling paranoid - particularly liked it when I broke for a drink hunt and found meself singing that song:eek:

SG - like the, Fallen costing you 6.66

    Fallen - a supernatural thriller - cost you ....... 666..... aaarrgh.

By the way I also loved Heist - David Mamet writes superb dialogue, but you do tend to get a bit lost in the "just one more twist" finale.

If you like Heist check out The Spanish Prisoner starring Steve Martin - and also written by Mamet - this is even better than Heist.

Never heard of it! But if I like Heist, I'll check it out (if I can find it cheap enough) ;) Cheers :)

I liked it. But it was good, rather than great. Would've been better if the various aspects of the plot had been fleshed out a bit more. I got the impression the movie was rather rushed in some aspects; some bits of the movie seemed too rushed. What was worse though was that the arrival of each twist occurred without any drama attached to it - so half the time I hadn't even realised a twist had taken place until a few minutes after.
