I have been asked for advice on which digital camera to get in this price bracket (for my mother in law).
Point and shoot, simple to operate, if possible with video recording + sound.

If I can get a shortlist together, it will simplify things a great deal.
Also, if there are any ones out there which are best avoided I'd like to know.

I bought a few 'which/what/buyer' type mags last christmas when I got mine, but things have moved on a great deal since then.

    I'd be grateful of suggestions.

    Thanks

Ixus 40 - might still be slightly more than £150 but well worth it. Video mode is superb which is a nice bonus.

As suggested in another thread, the Canon Powershot A510 is a cracker.

    many thanks,
it looks like she can't go wrong with a Canon then.
I'm guessing the winner will be a compact/ultra-compact.
