Recommendations for Sub change?

I have MA MRW10 and have been thinking would an upgraded amp improve music listening quailty.
Have QA concept 40's and matching centre. Room size is 13ftX8ft? Any recommendations have been looking at BK400 and 200 models also REL T Zero? But have currently seen this deal with Creative Audio any thoughts?

Yes definitely it would make sense to upgdate the subwoofer! MR W10 is even weaker than the poorly measured BR W10 subwoofer. These subwoofers are usually dumped in the cheap 5.1 packages.

AE308 would be step up surely, but i might still buy the trusted BK subwoofer. Better long term purchase and probably better after sale value too. Backed up by great measurements. XLS200 would be fine with music in that small room. But i guess you watch movies also as you have 3.1 / 5.1 setup right? Then BK P12-300SB / XXL400 would be better choice overall. Price difference is so small between those, so the bigger model is quite a no brainer really.

Would you go forward facing or downward firing? The sub will be positioned in front of the speaker right side of room. However not facing listening position

I was looking at the BK P12, it's getting good reviews. Yes it's a 5.1 but I'm using the system for a lot of music lately.

So the BK subs would be an upgrade over all, space is limited. Would these subs be smaller than the MR10?

It shouldn`t really matter that much from performance point of view. DF looks always nicer, especially with BK as they look like furniture with the wood finishes.

Subwoofer placement does matter though! Usually recommended to try the subwoofer in couple places. There could be quite dramatic changes in sound. I would try moving the MR10 sub around the front room and listen is there any place where it sounds better than the place where you have it now. Corner placement would be option too as you have XT32 with the Denon. It usually sounds loudest there and as you said you aren`t hearing it now, it might be worth the try. But i have a feeling you haven`t set up it right in the first place. We can check those too via PM.

If you can handle the slightly bigger cabinet, it`s worth it definitely! Especially with movies it should make quite clear difference.

Thanks Steven. With space at a limit I can only place the sub at the front of my floorstanders either side.

Does it matter what side or is there a general rule when placing sub? I ordered the DF sub P12, looking forward to using it for music. Ok

I would place it nearest the corner. So beside the floorstander that's nearer a corner.
