    Hi, am new here :)

Am looking to see if you have any recommendations for a 37" LCD (could squeeze to a 40", but anythign else would be too big) that is either available now or in the next month or two. TV is for my mother and her current TV (CRT) is on it's very last legs... :(

Want to get a HD LCD. She has Sky. Don't know much else about what to look for...

    Thanks,
    Boo

    What's the budget?
If you can accept other's feedback, then the Amoi 37" (Full HD resolution) for £1400 ish is a contender.
Similarly JVC DM6 if still not £1750 now with the new DX7 range having been introduced.

Would suggest waiting for HD to launch and then taking your mum to a few stores and then viewing a few TV's running SD and HD and then deciding for yourself.

There are a few new sets coming out at the moment and therefore current models may reduce in price over time.

I would be careful of buying a full HD set without viewing yourself as its likely that SD will not look that good on them. Also in view of the price Sky HD is likely to come in at your mum may find that she is not watching any HD for sometim to come.

Comets and Currys seem to have a few fair sets running HD and these places would be a good place to start.
