Currently have an accoustic solutions amp with dolby 5.1 would like to upgrade to another all in one system but with DTS, and or 6.1/7.1 also needs to be fairly decent and have audio delay that would assit with lip sync problems with the plasma and sky!

have a budget of £400-£500, would appreciate any help/suggestions :lease:

    Hi,

Have you even had a look inside any shops yet. Do you know what kind of makes and models you are interested in or are you really new to all this?

Do you require hard disk recording, dvd burning, dvd, cd play?

Will your system be used for more movies than music?

There are tons of all in one systems out there, one that caught my eye was the Denon all in one system for about your price range. You can see the products and get a general review in what hi-fi magazine from your newsagents. I would suggest you go to your local hi-fi shop and listen to some. You need to read up on what the different systems do and then work out what your requirements are. many systems will have features you probably wont even use to try and get a top 5 list and go from there.

    Napier.

Wouldn't say they are pants at all, the Denon DHT500 is a cracker, so is the Marantz Hollywood. OK, so they are not as good as a high quality seperates, but all in ones like the Denon DHT500 are certainly better than the very low end of the seperates market.

I was VERY impressed with the DHT 500 at the London what hi fi show last year, was very good.

Now, when it comes to lip synch, erm, I'm not sure an all in one exists that has that feature :(.

all the ones i've seen in action are - models from Panasonic and Sony. These were meant to be good (quite high in the range), and they sounded awful.

If I was to spend anything over £3-400, I would go seperates every time.
