    Hi all AVForums friends !

    I am looking for buying a HDD/DVD Recorder, and looking for your great recommendation !

    My minimal requirement is :-
    (1) with iLink input.
    (2) with "true" Nicam recording feature when recording to HDD, i.e.
    (i) allow record of BOTH main & sub languages at the same time onto the HDD;
    (ii) then after the dual-language program is recorded onto the HDD, allow select of which language to playback from the HDD;
    (iii) furthermore, when dubbing from HDD to DVD, allow to select which language (or even both) be copied onto the DVD.
    (3) well known brand (e.g. Pioneer, Toshiba, ....etc.; but not all those "OEM" brands !)
    (4) at last, the recorder should be also good in quality & user-friendly too !!!

    Looking for all of your great help & many many thanks !!! :hiya: :hiya: :hiya:

    DVD recorders record in Dolby Digital 2.0 or LPCM

    No commercial DVD recorder will do this. You'll need to use a PC.

    Ditto above.

    I did found HDD/DVD recorder from LG could record BOTH main & sub languages onto the HDD at the same time, and allow to select which one to playback.
    e.g. LG RH-7823W
    User-manual could be download here :-
    http://au.lge.com/md/product/sideme...delCode=RH7823W

    However, this LG recorder only support "PAL" Recording, but I want both NTSC & PAL ! :nono:

    Looking for more help & many thanks !

    ...as will most -VR recorders. However you'll invariably find such recording is not possible in the UK. Thus the only potential source is from a DVD - and, as I say, no DVD recorder will currently do that for you.
