Hi guys, im looking for a bit of advice here, i was looking to have a massive hifi investment this summer, but i have diverted funds elsewhere, namely my car.

I did have my eye on a set of quad 22l`s or b&w 604 s3`s, but alas that choice will wait till chrimbo.

So on with my question, im looking for a set of floorstanders until chrimbo, no more than £150, pref around the £99 mark, looking at the specials i see alot of kef cresta or missions m?? what else can i look at?

    Any reccomendations??

My current feeble setup is a marantz sr5300, and a toshiba sd220e, and an old marantz cd player cd63mkii i think.

The other reccomendation is for a decent cd player, this i will look for later in the year, maybe a budget of 350 ish, or maybe separate dac and transport etc??

Oh and this setup will be the fronts, for music and films!!

Cheers for any info guys :)

the mission m7 or the newer m3 range suits the sr5300 nicely.. m73i can be had for less than £150 but you might look for the m33 (replacement for the m73) which should be similarly priced. alternatively you can look for Tannoy MX3-M floorstand for around £140. also the Monitor Audio Bronze series might be worth checking out for.

    mike_cummi - then don't recommend them!

I'd agree that the M7 series from mission tends to work nicely with the SR5300, although try to opt for the M74i as opposed to the m73i as it's a far superior speaker.

Can be had for under £200 from http://www.prcdirect.co.uk

m33s are £169.95 delivered from hifi store.
You might want to give the Wharfedale Diamond 8.3s (£144.57 at qed) a listen as well as they are quite good
