    Hi,

The onloy ones I'd recommend at all out of that list, would be:

    PALINDROMES
    FEVER PITCH
    HOTEL RWANDA
    VERA DRAKE
    THE HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS
    I HEART HUCKABEES
    RAY
    SPANGLISH
    TEAM AMERICA
    THE INCREDIBLES

All the others, are either crap, or just plain forgettable films! :lesson:

Recommending for what? Good nights viewing? Children's birthday party? A horror fan?

It's all subjective - for instance Pooch recommeding Team America. If it was a choice of that or a bullet, I'd take the bullet every time - but that's MY taste and preference. Spanglish is ok, it's the most watchable movie with Adam Sandler in it - if that helps, but it's far, far from a masterpiece.

Not that I'm saying I'm right - far from it. It's just highly subjective to individual tastes.

    :D

for balance - its rubbish!!! total rubbish!! worst film of the year!!! christ even Submerged was better than that!! Alexander is a stain that needs to be washed away. having watched the Gladiator extended cut over the weekend you can see how truly bad alexander is.

the rest of Seth's list is ok - but i think both Assault on Precinct 13 and the Manchurian candidate are better in there original form (although neither of them are bad just unnecessary)

(you really shouldn't ask us - there be fights in the car park)

5 out of 10 apparently you gave it GaryD. Hardly sounds "rubbish" and "worse" than a Seagal movie - and I'm quoting you directly.

Sounds like someone is suffering short term memory loss, as well as other things.

i wish i could suffer memory loss with alexander - i trioed to watch it again a couple of weeks ago - maybe i was being unfair the first time, maybe i was in a bad mood or something? so i tried again - only the second time round it becomes even more laughable. i was sorely disappointed by it. i love Ollie stones work but its just a mess of film. one of the most influential humans who ever breathed and THAT is best story we can tell - as i said laughable. Veiw it as a film and its bad enough (hell he had 2 pops at it a still couldn't make the film work) veiw i through the lens of history and it gets even worse.

there is NO level that it is good on. i gave it 5 in the first place but it now dropped to at least a 3. while you may no concider 5 to be a not bad score - setting out and only achieving 50% of what you set out to do is hardly a indicator of quality.

Oh and the segal movie gets a better mark because its not pretending to be good - its a segal movie and it does exactly what it says on the tin - it submeges its self in s*** and doesn't pretend to be artisitcally "worthy".

I see the original question was to choose only 3 so here goes:

    SIN CITY
    THE HOUSE OF FLYING DAGGERS
    THE INCREDIBLES

These being probably IMO the top 3 with any lasting appeal.

I haven't actually seen most of those, but judging by many other people's reviews the best ones are:

    Kung Fu Hustle
    Vera Drake
    Hotel Rwanda
    The Incredibles
    (and possibly) Fever Pitch

Oh, and also "Crash" if you mean the recent film about race relations rather than the weird Cronenberg thing about people who get sexually turned on by car accidents.

I watched Napoleon Dynamite on the recommendation of friends, and that it won MTV Movie of the year.
Began to worry when I watched the first 5 seconds and saw "An MTV Production".
I didnt find it funny at all, just boring. Laughed at the steak in face, that was it.
I even managed to find Eurotrip hilarious so its not my lack of humour

Going back to the original question, I havent seen enough of them to give a good answer, tho I did think the following were the best of what Ive seen:
    Hitch
    Sin City
    Man On Fire
