A lot of the members on AVforums use intervocative to catalogue their movies and have it as a link in their signatures, this might be a good way of seeing what movies people are buying...

See My movies in my signature at the bottom of the page...:)

EDIT: Actually, some of the movies I own you probably wouldn't want, I do tend to watch a lot of B-Movie rubbish ! but others are probably worth a look !

Not going to list all my favourite films. But think X-Men II and LA Confidential should be in most people’s collection.

If you want a something a bit thoughtful rather than action The Elephant Man, would not say it was a show case film for surround sound like later film after it was made just a very nice film.

    Hi there

Hers a little mix bag for you.

Lord of the rings trio extended editions a must have I think.
The Godfather trio especially for the 1st two films.
Pulp Fiction – Just a great film
Carlito's Way – Good Gangster Story
Angela's Ashes – another good film and story, some parts will make cry and some will make you laugh
Gallipoli – Maybe not the best sound or picture but a good war story.
Gangs Of New York - Daniel Day Lewis is brilliant in this.
The Green Mile – good story. ( started to repeat myself)
Bourne Identity – Try and get the R2 with DTS on it.
Shrek – great to watch with the kids

I could go on and on. But looking at the DVD you have at the moment you have some good taste in films.

    I'd recommend:

    Fight Club
    Se7en
    Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
    Requiem For A Dream
    Pulp Fiction
    21 Grams
    Memento
    Old Boy
    Goodfellas
    Leon
    Donnie Darko
    Casino
    City of God
    La Haine
    Irreversible
    24 (TV show)
    Band Of Brothers (TV show)
    The Wire (TV show)

I could go on all day.

On a another note. My dvd profiler seems a bit odd.

If you look at it here http://www.intervocative.com/dvdcollection.aspx/Craig Russell and the collection numbers, you see every so often that I'm missing some like 12, 14, 20 etc. Now these are on my profiler on my computer (number 14 is American Beauty for instance) and when I upload it doesn't report any problems, but those titles fail to show. Any ideas guys?

Personally I'd take Once Upon a Time in the West over the good, the bad and the ugly.

Seven Samurai would be near the top of my list, especially as Criterion are about to release a new version of it.

Le Samurai is another influential film that's well worth seeing.

Toy Story and Spirited Away are two animated films that should be in everybody's collections.

No collection should be without at least one Hitchcock film, I'd go for Vertigo or North by Northwest or Psycho as I prefer his later work but more or less any of his films are classics.

Its to do with the settings for adult titles, you'll probably find that the ones omitted are 18 certificates.

You need to change the setting in Tools > Options > Parental Controls to allow adult titles and uncheck the Hide adult titles box.
