    Hi guys,

I'm looking to buy a new flat screen monitor. I use my home PC for surfing, playing games, nothing too demanding though, so I dont need anything ultra-high spec.

I would like a monitor at least 20", hopefully under £200 but I can stretch slightly above that if its worth it.

The only other requirement is that it is very adjustable, my little boy has a visual impairment and needs to sit extremely close to the screen. So it needs to be height, tilt and swivel adjustable. Also the larger screen is more desirable because of this.

    Thanks for your help.

i have an LG 19WT widescreen and its great. i remember reading the 20-22" version was a best buy in PC pro.

lovely monitors but i guess there are loads better.

i think the 20" is way under £200, approx £160-70

Does this monitor have height adjustment?

The reviews I've read say the stand is a bit wobbly. Any truth in that?

the stand is very solid and quite wide. the angle tilts but not height adjustment. it sits high on my desk so is already a good height. it's solidly made and very solid stand to.

Not sure if this helps but I just bought the Fujitsu Seimens L22W-5 22" monitor from currys. It suits me just fine with my visual impairment. Its got 1680 x 1050 widescreen resoloution. The only downside is its VGA. Good angle of tilt on it aswell. Cost £169.99. Check this other topic out.

    Hi,

This is of interest to me at the moment as I'm also looking to purchase a new monitor between 20-22" (would go bigger but don't have the space) with a budget of £200-250. I have hit a road block though as there seems to be a lot of conflicting views.

The three I have looked at mainly so far are:

Dell 2007FP 20.1" - I use these at work and from my limited knowledge of monitors I have to say they are fantastic. The adjustable stand lets you raise the screen nice and high and the usb ports are nice and handy. Picture is great.

Dell E228WFP 22" - I Like the sound of this based on my experience with the above model as it's bigger, but haven't seen as many good reviews from users. You can pick these up for less than the 2007FP even though they are bigger - not sure why but suspect perhaps cheaper componets so therefore a lesser product?

Samsung Pebble SM2232BW 22" - I am a little sceptical about Samsung products after my mate's telly blew up during the boxing recently but on the same note they are a dominant brand at the moment so must be doing something right. It is very tempting choice as the spec blows most other things out the water for the price!

Anyway, I'd like to know anyones thoughts on the above or if you have the actual models listed what your experiences are. Also, if you have a Viewsonic or LG and think they would be a better choice then shout.

    Thanks all.

    JC
