Hi all, I'm planning to set up a budget home cinema system soon. My choice: Toshiba SD-220E DVD Pioneer VSX-811 Receiver Mission M72 Speakers I'm looking for a sub around £100 preferably beech/cherry to compliment my setup above. cheers all
I would double your budget to £200 really for a sub. Not gonna get a good quality sub for £100. Don't forget you'll need a big heap of cables- SCART, speaker, phono etc..
hmm... okay what's a decent sub for £200 (or less)? what about the eltax sub 8/10? i heard good comments about 'em? How much do i need to spend on cables? thanks
Eltax are very poor quality, IMO. I would look around for a second hand decent sub, rather a new lesser sub. There is a powerbuy for VX-10 sub's but be aware the LF corner is 36hz. SCART-SCART RGB say £20 Speaker cable, £1.00 per M to £2.50. 5 speaker's- rears will be much longer, obviously Subwoofer phono-phono cable, £20-£30 Coaxial phono to phono for DVD to Amp audio, £20
oh yes what does that mean? and recommend me good price/performance cables.. i know QED silver anniversary for speaker cables..
In lay speak, the LF corner is the frequency at which the sound volume begins to drop off dramatically compared to frequencies above it.
I am selling one at the mo on the classified, in your price range if you are interested. As the others say, for a new sub you really need to be looking nearer £200 Cant go wrong with QED cables. If you are buying you speakers from Uncle Eric he will be the best person to ask re speaker cable.
okay i'll forget about the eltax.. thanks for the offer but i'm not buying anything now because i'm waiting for the pioneer 912 receiver
