I currently have a Sony DAV-SR1 home theatre system, which is hooked up to my Pioneer 506XDE, as well as my new Sky HD box.
I've had a custom boxed-in-ledge built which will hide all my AV equipment, and the tv is wall mounted.
The Sky HD box and the Pioneer's media box fit in the new boxed-in area, but the DAV-SR1 is HUUUUUGE and won't fit (I knew this when I drew up the plan for the boxed-in-ledge, I was planning on upgrading and wanted to keep the depth of the ledge down to a minimum).
So, I'm looking for a new system to replace the Sony DAV-SR1, but it needs to meet the following criteria:

    • Must be similar in size to a Sky HD box
    • Must be able to use existing 5.1 speaker wire as it's run under the new hardwood floor
    • Preferably slot-in drive rather than tray style
    • Must have HDMI/Upscaling capability

The existing speaker wire has connectors similar to phone leads (RJ25??) but presumably I can just cut them off if the new system doesn't support this?
I'm not too fussed about cost, if it's worth it I'll pay it.

    Can anyone help me out?
