After waking up this morning and discovering that Media Player has lost my playlists and all media  and refuses to import them correctly again, i need something else. This is the 3rd or 4th time its happened as well

Don't mind paying for the right app, as long as it works. :smashin:

Forgot to say, all my music is in FLAC format, correctly tagged and cover art embedded.

Really? Its a plug-in now, not a stand alone app?

Do you have Windows Updates running? I know that Media Player is often updated, I wondered if this is linked to your playlists getting nuked.

My HTPC hasn't been updated for over a year. I don't want the Microsoft wooden spoon giving it a random stir every couple of weeks.

I do have updates enabled, but i've never had this exact issue before.

Playlists weren't deleted, but it wouldn't read them.

In the end, i had to delete the WMP Database and start again.

I've come across JRiver and Album Player already, but they appear to be stand alone apps, and not intergrated into 7MC.

Really looking for a plugin, keeps it simple for the missus :)

If you are using 7MC to watch videos as well then JRiver will handle that as well from a single interface, otherwise if it is just music then either will do it and both sound a lot better than 7MC. Then your missus only has to learn one new app and you get rid of the pain of M$ messing around with your machine. 7MC should be put with iTunes and sent to the deepest part of the Marianas Trench.

I use the MyMovies plugin for 7MC for films and TV.

As for sound quality, i take a digital feed from my HTPC, so doesn't matter what player i use.

Have you had a look at MusicBrowser, integrates with 7MC very good program
    have a look here http://www.musicbrowser2.com/
and here for forum with loads of info on setting up.
    Windows Experts Community

You must have your music / albums tagged correctly for it to work properly though, it can download the metadata for all your albums artists etc and as i say it is completely integrated into 7MC you can also get it to use foobar, winamp as the player but without seeing those players interfaces.

    Regards
    Aquatarkus.
