Hi, apologies if this has been mentioned before but reading various reviews and recommedations on this forum i have narrowed down my choice of AV amp to a Sony STR-DG910 and just want to make sure its a good buy before i take the plunge

Now the amp will be used for Xbox360 Premium, PS3 and Wii primarily, in addition i have a media pc attached for movies via VGA (swapping with the 360 atm).

Is this amp a good choice for this setup? or do you guys recommend something else.

The budget is around the £300 mark

    Thanks in advance

Although magazine reviews aren't the best advice, I find them useful for guidance. New issue of What hi-fi comes out tomorrow with a review of that sony amp you mention.

A bit more than the £400 mark, but have you considered an Onkyo 605? Been getting cracking reviews.

I dont really want to spend more than £300 (i didnt want to spend more than £200 but i couldnt find a descent amp which has all i need for less)

The main motivation is so i can plug all my kit into the amp to get 5.1 surround, rather than plugging it all into the TV and having stereo
