    Thank you MB

i seen this already, i read mixed results round the web.

also that it has halfed in price since release might be a reflection that they are not flying off the shelf for some reason.

    but thank you again.

I've just ordered one today from Overclockers as they are on special.

I believe the problems referred to have been due to the fact that this is such a new product. New drivers were released last week that appear to have solved virtually all outstanding problems, which is why I've decided to buy.

Can't see how one retailer offering them in their 'This Week Only' section causes suspicion? Surely thats the time to buy? If you hated it, you could probably recover the costs on Ebay.

OcUK have the distribution rights in the UK. I suspect now they've secured a regular supply they've decided to drop the prices and bring them in line with products of similar specifications (mid range Audigy)

I'm looking forward to having a play with it and being able to integrate the PC with my amp without all the wiring associated with 6.1 analogue.

ok i found a dusty add on to my motherboard, forgot i had this its a dual
optical output for the onboard sound. The motherboard is an msi 875p neo, using soundmax onboard sound.

i removed the old sb live card , and hooked up the via coax to my amp. it shows the Dolby logo but no digital, instead it is showing pcm.

Question: what have i lost in sound quality?.

the sound max software gives options for ac3 and pcm output
but all i get the amp to tell me is pcm.

    thanks jimmy
