Hi, I'm looking for a Rear Projection TV, the bigger the better. I have one on order from Thomson (a 61") but they seem to be taking forever to deliver.

Can anyone recommend me one that is similar? The most important thing is the size, widescreen, under £3000.....

    Thanks

Have a look at the Toshiba 57" 57WH36P. I have the 42" version and am VERY happy with it, fantastic image quality.

Not quite as big as the 61" monster you have ordered, but it accepts PAL Progressive Scan AND can be had for £1800 if you look hard enough :)

Again,I'd agree with Kazman...the current Toshiba's are excellent RPTV's(I have one of the older 50" models),and IMHO much better in all respects, but especially viewing angle and PQ than the Thomson.

Thanks for the tip, it looks nice.

Any idea where I might be able to buy one without having to wait an age to have it delivered?

I got mine from www.robertsons-online.co.uk took just over 2 weeks to get. I had to call them up twice to get a delivery date, first was after a week to see if one was known, it wasnt and i was told that Toshiba should be calling me, called again 2 weeks after ordering, they didnt know del date but said they would call Tosh and did and got back to me the same day and say would be delivered in 3 days.
So not sure if the problem was due to Tosh or them, but based on them saying I should get a call from Tosh and didnt, looks like it wasnt robertsons. So would say I got a good service from them and a 5 year warranty. Their prices have gone up a little since when i bought mine so dont know how they compare now, but when i bought mine it was the cheapest place I could find.

    Try www.rgbdirect.co.uk

My sisters fiance used to work for them and can vouch for their quality of service, and they are selling it for £1739.95 Inc VAT AND DELIVERY!!!!

Absolute bargain for that screen size!!!
