    Lite-on or Tosh are good.

Another vote for Lite-on from me...

I got one of these myself from Amazon a couple of weeks ago and am very happy with it, I've tried playing a couple of film's on it and found it to be very quiet.

    Regards,
    Iain.

    Pioneer is a noisy beastie.
I've been using dvdidle to try and get the damn thing to shut up. It sort of works but it would be good if you could cache the entire dvd rather than have the dvd drive crank up again half way through the movie.

I miss my pioneer slot loader, but it was noisy. I think you can get a speed limiter which reduces noise quite a bit.

The speed tool does make it quieter but its still pretty noticable.
