Please can you give me a spot of advice for a flat that I am moving into.

I have a panny PH10 50" and a Canton speaker setup, this all my old kit that I have not sold. I have a 360f centre, CD50's and CD10 rears. Sub is coming :)

I have to buy a receiver to complete it, my old receiver for this system was a Yamaha 1400 I think so a wee bit out of date.

It needs to be HDMI etc preferably cheap. I had been looking at Onkyo 606's etc. Just wondered if you had any other suggestions...

Cheers in advance.

Onkyo poduces a lot different sound compared to your old Yamaha. If you liked the sound of your old system then I would look at Yamaha amps too. Hence look at the 465 (£220) or 565 (£270) by Yamaha. These are both HD audio enabled recievers.

my old receiver for this system was a Yamaha 1400.

Today's equivalent of the yamaha 1400 is the Yamaha 2065. So I would try to get at leat the 1065, the amp below the 2065.

I dont think I made myself clear :) I have not used the 1400 for ages, I now have a Onkyo 805 with MK Xenons. I am happy with the sound, I can't remember what the Yammy sounded like tbh!
