Hi, still relatively new here but a couple of questions.

I have a Sony receiver (3yrs old) that just turns itself off after a bit. If I leave it off and power it on again after an hour or so it is fine.

Does this sound like something I can fix myself or is it time to go get a new one?

Also, if I were to get a new receiver, does anyone have any recommendations for something in the 300-400 USD range? Obviously I'm not an audiophile but it must have A/B speaker switching and 5.1 or greater outputs to work with my setup.

    Thanks!

Check to see if it's not maybe running to hot ! IS there enough airflow around it ?

Does it power off when you using it or even if it is "just on". What speakers are you using with it?

Yes it powers off in the middle of watching TV or listening to music.

My fronts are Bose 301s, satellites are Energys (Take 5s?) and an Energy subwoofer.

I THINK there is enuf airflow around it, but I don't know how to be sure.
