Receiver not sending signal to front speakers

Hi,

Can anyone help me out? I got a fairly new Sony STRD 525 (i think) receiver and the front left and right speakers don't come one. THe center, rear surrounds and subwoofer comes on...although the subwoofer, when watching movies, only comes on when the volume is way up sometimes....

Can anyone shed some light on this please? Thanks so much!

It might sound silly, but have you connected up?

Alternatively, check the individual channel volumes. The front speakers may be too low, or the other speakers may too high.

Yes, its plugged in. The funny thing is, if I disconnect my working center channel and plug it in to one of the non working channels, front left, it works. And while I did that, i took the front left channel and plugged it into center channel and that didn't work. Its like the receiver can do one or the other, not all together anymore.

Any more ideas? I'd like to avoid buying a new receiver if possible as this one is no more than 1.5 years old. Thanks again.
