    Hi all
I've got a sony KV32fx68 tv and not that impressed by the sound quality.

I've got a cheapie 5.1 home cinema system and when i use that to put sound through there is a delay and everybody's mouths are out of sync.

I've got a Rotel RA102 amp but that is at the other end of the room and the B&W 602's are too big too put next to the tele.

I'm looking for a receiver that I can hook up to the sky plus box and then added extra speakers to improve my sound. Looking for a second hand one initially but what can I use ? Do I just need an A/V receiver - will this still have a delay ??

    Thanks for any help

    Andy

Lip sync issue that you have is due time it takes the surround sound to be decoded/amplified.

Wether you will still have the problem or not with a seperate A/V receiver is a difficult question to answer. There are a number of receivers available that have a specific function built in to correct the error but I believe this only works if the amp also has the picture running through it - ie it delays the picture from showing by the same lenght of time it takes for the decoding process of the sound.

Saying all that - I had a lip synch problem with my old cheapo videologic surround sound set up which immediately disappeared when I upgraded to the new Denon AVR 2805 and didnt require any fiddling - ran the auto setup and everything has been great since then
