    Hi

I'm looking to spend roughly £300 on a new amp, and again a further £200 ish on speakers.

Main feature I want is HDMI inputs, 2 min, 3 would be nice with a loopthrough to the TV. A couple of optical inputs and all the usual component and composite loop through's + a host of analogue inputs.

I've read a little about a good Onkyo amp but i'm just unsure at the moment what is the "must have" amp in this category.

    Thanks for any help

    Iain

don't think you will get the HDMI inputs in that price range. Onkyo TX-SR604E has them for £399

would doing an HDMI loopthrough have any advantage over just using optical inputs other than simply having to only select the input on the amplifier and not on the tv as well. (Swapping SKY-HD through to DVD player)

thanks for the reccomendation though :)

    2307 is about £500

I think there are 2 camps on it but the advice i was given was that you are better connecting direct to tv if you can and using coax or optical for sound.
