    Hi guys.
I've been a plasma owner now for a couple of years, but recently I have been thinking of an LCD TV for the bedroom. I'm wanting to run an HCPC set up in there to enable me to view HDTV content amongst the usual stuff.
Im a complete newbie when it comes to LCD technology, so looking for recommendations from you knowledgeable crowd :)
Size required would be 26 inch and above, and would like it to be pretty reasonable cost wise....i.e. not cost more than the PW7 I have in the lounge.
    Cheers guys.

I just ordered the 26" LG 26LX2R (HD Ready) from Currys at £749.

I get it on Thursday and I'll post my findings here.

I did quite a bit of looking around the forums before choosing this tv. I was also considering the Samsung LE26R51BD too.

All of the LG LCD's look superior in my local Currys

But then they are the only ones running HD clips :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Similiar situation at my local Currys. They have a dedicated corner for LG LCDs displaying a HD clip showing the antarctic and penguins.

Looked nice but the other sets like the JVC DS6 and Samsung's were getting crappy shared aerial feeds.

I really, really like that LG screen. I'm tempted to buy it instead of a Samsung 26" especially since it seems to have HDMI and DVI by the looks of things.

The LG is nice PQ wise from what I have seen but a darn shame that the speakers are mounted on the site and not at the bottom.

There's a group test of 26 inch LCDs in next months What Video and Widescreen TV - may be worth hanging fire for 4 weeks.

What do you not like about them being on the side?

IMO it makes the whole thing look ugly and wide but I generally don't like the LX2R's design.

I find the LP1D's design to be more acceptable though.

I don't like the look of the LP1D personally - it looks very slightly tacky.

Can anyone find a review of the 26LX2R? There aren't really any comprehensive views on any of the forums I've looked on and What Hi-fi? Sound and Vision don't have it listed in their LCD reviews section.

What other 26" TVs are there on the horizon?

Having done more research, I may actually go for a larger size LCD despite the obvious increase in cost.
Now all I have to do is decide which one....so many good ones out there!
Any LCDs with all these connections on the back? : component inputs, HDMI, DVI and VGA.
Alot of LCDs seem to have one or two of the above but not all.
Having just returned from the States, seeing xbox 360 in action and HD TV I am really keen on getting an LCD very soon now.
