Can anyone suggest a pair of high quality 'small' rear surround speakers. The smaller the better. I want to place them near the top rear corner of our ceiling. I currently have floor standing ones that simply take too much space (you can see below I use the mission ones).

I am after quality hi-fi ones that provide depth and a quality sound and can handle minimum of 50 watts each. My amp is the sony 45x5. Most of the ones I see in shops (comets, dixons, etc) basically sound crap. But I suppose you get what you pay for. £100 can buy a complete surround package of speakers.

Price - well, I suppose upto about £100.

I want to place the speakers out the way, but will direct them downwards towards the central viewing position.

thanks for that. I see there is a similar spec Wharfedale set listed above the mission which also look interesting. The problem is they are both £150 approx - which is more than half I wanted to pay.

Both of those bio-piolar ones look awfully similar to the ones richer sounds use (?) to sell quite cheap. I might just check them too.

another idea I had was to place the rear speakers on the side (top) of our open through lounge partitition wall. So effectively they were positioned behind the viewers ears and then they would not have the sound bouncing off any wall. By positioning the speakers IN the front room - top rear corner one of the biopoar speakers would be pointing to a wall.

It's all a bit difficult explaining it without pictures !
