Wondering whether anyone can put me out of my misery .
She who has to be obeyed is concerned about the size of my rear
speakers and wants me to upgrade to something smaller.
My current system comprises og a Pioneer VSAE08 AMP,
    Boston Center ,LINN Keilidh Fronts & B&W DM110 .
She has mentioned the Bose Cubes & her favorite the Wharfdale Loudpanel PPS1 picture speakers .

I dont want to downgrade my sound , and haven't heard much about the quality of the Wharfedales .They all seem to come packaged with a Sub woofer (one item missing from my set up but not particularly missed due to the Linns superb Bass).

    Now the questions ,
    Would they be compatable ?
Would the supplied sub (see below) be compatable ?

    Panel Specification
    Power Handling: 70w programme
    Nominal Impedance: 8 ohm
    Sensitivity: 87dB/Wm-1
    Frequency range: 160Hz-20kHz
    Size (HxWxD): 550 x 500 x 27
    Subwoofer Specification
    Driver: 170mm
    Power Handling: 70w programme
    Nominal Impedance: 8 ohm
    Sensitivity: 87dB/Wm-1
    Frequency range: 40-160Hz
    Frequency: Fb 35Hz
    Size (HxWxD): 235 x 460 x 210

Are the NXT spweaker any good ?
If not could I upgrade the sub to match my system ie a paradigm ?
or should I abandon these speakers for other smaller purpose build rears eg ELTAX H72 etc or other NXT type speakers ?

    Any help greatfully appreciated

    Thanks Mylo ,
But though I'd ask again , has anyone got an opinon on the
Wharfdale Loudpanel PPS1 picture speakers and the included
    Sub Woofer .
Would I be downgrading ? What effect would it have on my sound ? looks like I can't really upgrade the supported Sub.
What do people think I should do ? Any alternatives ?
    Your confused

I've got 'em (your missus and mine must be cut from the same cloth) & frankly they are pretty poor. Muddy tone, they lack clarity and the sub isn't even as good as the crappy Acoustimas boxes Bose sells. They are capable of fairly good dispersion, handy 'cos mine are 6 inches behind my sofa and only about 2 feet higher - they don't blast away behind my head, but lack crispness too. You need a decent, loud rear sound to wake them up - faint atmospheric sounds don't even register often. The sub is also a bit big and awkward to hide and the front port hates being blocked, so placing between the wall & sofa is a no-no.

My wife had great fun choosing 8 standard size postcards in bright coulours with arty designs and sticking them onto the panels, but now she is bored with them, but can't change the design.....:rotfl: The cable also irritaes her as it hangs down the wall and then runs to the sub.

Next time I shall be looking for some little surrounds like Kef Eggs or perhaps Gallos. Oh, and a new wife too......
