I'm adding some satellite rears the weekend and wanted to know the best position for them as our seating is against the wall.

Currently have 3.1 setup with the subwoofer to the left of the TV stand.

Here is a rough layout of our living room, how high should they be - same height as listening position or above or lower?

Should the speakers be facing the listening position or back towards the TV?

The listening position, as it's your ears that need to hear the effects.

For 5.1 the surrounds should be about 30cm above ear level. Given your limited space to rear and side of sofa then I would look at a pair of bipole/dipole speakers instead of monopole ones. What speakers do you have at the moment?

It’s a 5.1 canton movie 125 MX set, bought it about 4 years ago.
