Rear companions for RS1's

Hi Guys,

Currently got a set of RS1's for use as my stereo system.

I want to turn this into a 5.1 system but don't want anything to obvious as the rear speakers and would like them mountable.

Do Monitor Audio do anything suitable ? Maybe something like the Raduis range for the rears ?

Or Do I go down the route of having a seperate system for music and go for something like the KEF 25005.3 range with seperate Amp ?

Thanks.

What about the matching RS-X rears? And a RSLCR center? Are they too big?

I second the use of the RS FX for the rear and the RS LCR for the centre as they will match your RS1s but what surround amp are you going to use?

Are you also thinking of a sub woofer such as the ASW12?

Subwoofer would be something along the lines of an XLS200 or similar from BK.

No idea about amp yet, something like a Yamaha or Sony 2400.

Sounds like you need a trip to your local Monitor Audio dealer to listen to the RS1 as a surround package with a choice of receivers to see if you are happy with the stereo performance as well as the surround performance.

I think you will find a good surround amp will be fine for stereo music listening with your current RS1s and therefore would make the choice as simple as using the other RS range speakers.

Mind you, if your budget would allow (and space), you could go for the RS6 floor standing speakers as your front pair and move your current RS1s to the rear! (Just adding the RS LCR for centre.)

Gone for a set of the older Radius 90's as surrounds. Nice and small and unobtrusive. They only had Cherry and my fronts are Light Oak but don't look too different.

Does anyone know where I can get one of the old Radius centres in Cherry ?

Not practical having a large speaker on the wall, we want something small and functional.

I had considered it but won't get it past her indoors.
