really small compact with good IQ

I'm really happy with my D70 but there are times when I'd love to just have a thin, pocketable compact with me instead. are there any that will produce acceptable results? I'm aware that "accetpable" is a pretty subjective thing but can anyone recommend any that do a decent job. also having got very used to my DSLR I would not be happy with anything with much shutter lag, is that possible?

TIA

Hi,

thanks for the suggestion, I'd seen this camera get a lot of praise but was hoping for something even smaller if possible - any ideas or does IQ really suffer below this size?

Have a look at Fuji F31D if you want good low light performance, the canon ixus range seem to perform reasonably well, there are a few new models coming out there if you check dpreview
