Re-use the old sky harddisk

Hi, i'm trying to use the old/original harddisk that came with the skyHD box, but windows says its copy protected when i try and format it.

Any ideas?

There should be some way to force a format.

found a prog that takes the prottection off, its called "WriteProt", good little prog.

But naw I got another problem, i cants fastforward or rewind or pause ummm help!!

Tried everything, hardeset the lot, nothing still the same.

Got it working, in copy+ use the option for use same setting as original backup or disk image, dont choose the specific Skyhd box one ie. samsung.

I am sure that I did it all via Windows XP "Disk Management" - but it is so long ago that I forget how I removed any protection!

Assume you've got a spare 'original' sky disc to replace it should another 'recall' occur? Or perhaps its an STB you bought outright?

I know I was glad I kept mine when the Pace was replaced by my Amstrad, then my larger HDD could be saved for my Amstrad.
