I recently acquired my RDSX32 and I have been trying to play my DVD-r'S on my Sony DAVs500 without any success( I keep getting C:13 ERROR-the disk is dirty),Purchsed DVD's play fine.
The Sony is supposed to be compatible with DVD video discs.

Does anyone else have problems with this system?

That might be your problem, I recall it stated in the manual (think it is P8/P9) that it recommends DVD-R version 2 general / video disks. Disks I used are the cheapo ARITA brand with G04 ritek dye (30p each) and they all worked ok in my brother el cheapo Acoustic Solutions DVD451 player £30 from RS.
Annoyingly both of my 3 years old LIMIT 8080 DVD players refuses to recognise any DVD-Rs I created and I paid more than double each for these comparing to my brother's player

They write and playback on the Toshiba ok they just won't on the Sony DAV 500, and I dont believe that the Sony makes any such requirement for version 2.

I have tried Ritek DVD in the Sony now and that doesn't work either, I beginning to think that its the sony player that's the problem.
I have these c:13 errors with Sonys elsewhere on the web.

Or is it me and the way i am creating the copies, I use the DVD VIDEO button in edit menu with compatibility mode 2 on, is this ok?

    How do you do it.
