RD50 broken i think :(

    Hello

    well ive had my RD50 for about8 8 months now and ermmm ive just had a slight problem.

    basically the colour went funny and then went black and then when i try to turn it on it comes with a double red LED.

    since the manual is totally rubbish i have no clues to whats wrong with it :( pleases someone help me quick!

    ps i just noticed its the light next to the power standby light :\ and theres a bulb symbol...

    but theres no way it could have blown as i havent used more than the estimated lamp life!

    anyone tell me about my warrenty and bulb stuff :\ please say i dont have to buy another one do i?

    any help?

    i havent even used it that much :( and it died already!

    i had a shuttle pc connected to it and i was watching something on it :( i had it on 60hz but still cant believe its died already

    oh :( hows your hanging? and has anyone elses bulb died or am i the first victim?

    argh! i just called optoma about the lamp and she said its 3 month warrenty on the lamp :eek: then i said to her its 1 year but shes gonna call and double check :rolleyes:

    im very sure its 1 year right? or am i going CRAZY! :lesson:

    update!

    well she called me (very lovely voice she has too :D ) and said she would arrange a courier to send a replacement bulb and also to collect the faulty one :D

    felt a bit funny taking out the bulb but i got it out and cant see any fault with it anyone want some pictures of it? its like a Fog lamp on a car :> but a mini version :)

    woot!

    ps Customer Service rating 9 :) i have to replace the bulb myself but its not hard at all :)

    ok update :\ ive changed the bulb and same problem! arrghhh i dont know whats wrong with it :(

    any ideas what red standby light and red lamp light means?

    The manual suggests lamp failure.

    The american manual also indicates that a blinking red light, as oppose to a constant red light, on the bulb symbol would be an internal fault other than the bulb.

    It sounds like you need Optoma to send an engineer.

    I hope you get it sorted.

    well i called them today since i had no reply from my email and they are going to send a engineer out but im not sure when that will be but i have left them my email address and mobile number so they can tell me when hes or SHE is coming ;) i hope ShES a hot sexy engineer :clap: :clap: :clap: i want to see those butt cheeks :D

    ok engineer came over to my house today and we changed a few curcuit boards but no luck :( which can only be the lamp board section which optoma will have to send him the parts to install on my tv ;/

    well the engineer guy was great :) hopefully see him next week :)

    ok i got no reply from optoma or the engineer this week and im starting to lose patience now.

    i think my tv has been out of order for 3 weeks now! is it me or do i have to call them every day until this is sorted out?

    also i noticed when the engineer couldnt repair the tv when he replace 3 PCB boards when it says machine on contract, warrenty, repeat call and chargeable
    chargeable was ticked! so im thinking am i gonna get charged for this? because if i am im sending the bill straight to optoma. :mad:

    GRrrr how many days do i get before i can insist on a total replacement?

    3 reasonable attempts to fix I believe - but I would be calling them each day until they get someone to fix it. Hope it get sorted soon.

    Just wondered if you have got your problem sorted yet as i brought my RD50 just before you got yours and i'm getting paranoid about mine breaking down
