I have recently purchased a component board for my panny PW7 plasma, its the BNC version as its cheaper then the RCA version and is the same PQ.

Now Im going to buy a RCA component cable to go from my dvd player to my plasma, Im looking at a nice QED one with gold connections etc.

My question is.. I will have to buy 3 RCA to BNC connectors and plug my cable into plasma via these.. will I lose any PQ by doing this? I presume I should buy connectors that are gold too?

Or should I buy a RCA to BNC cable?

Also, where do I buy the connectors from?

    Thanks for any help.

Why not buy some decent crimped RCA to BNC leads from one of the forum sponsors. Don;t need to worry too much about the gold bit....it's the quality of the manufacture and the cable that's important....there's a banner add at bottom of this page on my pc for a suitable supplier.

well this cable is one Im looking at getting atm...

    QED QUNEX PCV1 COMPONENT 3 RCA 1M

can pick that up for around £20 from the ebay shops.

Not many cables that are RCA to BNC though. I think most people will use connectors as RCA to RCA is more common and so will be a future proofed lead if I want to re-use it for something else or sell it.

Do you know if the connectors will reduce PQ or dont they affect it?

p.s. Gordon is that pic in your profile of you or the guy from league of gentleman? :p

    It's me.

There are lots of RCA to BNC cables available you are just not looking in right places.
You are correct that RCA to RCA is more popular. I doubt you'll notice difference the adaptors will make...
