RCA Cable Splitter Question

I've posted this in General too...but thought it might be answered here also!

I want to run 2 Paradigm PS1000's off my one AVC1D sub output, and thought the easiest way would be to purchase an RCA cable splitter...now this is where I come to a sticking point....

All the splitters on the market with 1 male - 2 female (as I would have thought this would be the obvious gender formation) are advertised as 'in car kits to enable one head unit to drive 2 amps'... where as the sub cable splitters are all 1 female - 2 male in gender... meaning I'd have to position the splitter at the sub end of my rca cable, not from the amp directly..which is what normally you would do..?

Am I correct in thinking I can use the 'in car splitter' for the same result? I'm not going to damage anything etc...

You'll be fine if you split at either end with either type of "splitter".

My preference would be to split them at the amp end and send the signal down 2 cables of the same length anyway, so yes those splitters should be fine.

Edit: Doh, beaten to it, yes as Malice said

I think much depends on whether the 2 x subs are co-located or not. If they were co-located and perhaps facing "back to back" I'd run a single cable from the amp and split at the sub(s) end.
