Hi All,

My system randomly wakes up for no apparent reason then doesn't shut down like it should do after 15 minutes. I have the A8N-VM CSM motherboard. I'm pretty sure the only jumper I have set is for the remote.

Thanks,
Richie.

Richie,

This is probably caused by a device armed for waking. Get the latest version of the MCE Standby Tool (0.9.41). Launch it and select the “Devices” tab.

Unselect all the devices you don’t want to wake the system, especially the mouse, keyboard and network devices. These are known to cause problems like this.

Hi,

It may be Wake on LAN. My MCE wakes randomly once I enabled this at the least.

You can tell if it is by Right Clicking "My Computer"->Manage->System Tools->Event Viewer->System.

If you see any entries for "Tcpip", you'll get something like:

"The system detected that network adapter NVIDIA...Controller - Packet Scheduler Miniport was connected to the network, and has initiated normal operation over the network adapter."

Unless someone can definitely tell me this isn't Wake On LAN, I'm pretty sure that's what it is.
