I'm looking to get the new Microsoft flight sim and have been advised to upgrade my ram from 16gig. I`m currently running 2 x 8gig DDR4 2133 sticks.
I`ve been looking at faster 2 x 16 gig stick at 3200mhz. eg -
My mother board is an GA-z270M-D3H -

I`ve looked at the compatibility lists and I`m so confused, can some kind sole help an idiot out?

Pc specs incidentally i7 7700k / gtx1080ti

you would be slightly better off with an additional 2x 8gb 'sticks' to make 32 rather than swapping out for 2x16s.

The only thing your really need to check is the maximum total capacity your motherboard can handle which is

4 x DDR4 DIMM sockets supporting up to 64 GB of system memory

your motherboard spec states

Support for DDR4 3866(O.C.) / 3800(O.C.) / 3733(O.C.) / 3666(O.C.) / 3600(O.C.) / 3466(O.C.) / 3400(O.C.) / 3333(O.C.) / 3300(O.C.) / 3200(O.C.) / 3000(O.C.) / 2800(O.C.) / 2666(O.C.) / 2400 / 2133 MHz memory modules

so it will run those Corsair sticks at 2400 unless you change the bios to 3200 (overclocking).
RAM will run at slower speed, the rating is just a maximum.

Compatibility list is just a guaranteed / tested list. all quality RAM to spec should work but not guaranteed

@Nerox Thank you very much for your time. I found the same kit on over clockers for £149 so I`m going to go with that. The current ram in my PC was on a sort of loan so its going back.

Thanks
