Radeon vs GF video card question

    I'm just starting out with HTPC and I have a question. I have an AverTV Studio capture card, which doesn't work with Radeon GPUs. I'm not heavy into gaming, so the priority of the video card would be for tv-out, however I do play an occasional game. I've looked at cards about the level of the 8500/9000s and the MX440 or Ti4200s for their capability and price.

    So, knowing that these forums are heavy into Radeon for a reason, my question is this: is it worth going with a Radeon card and then also obtain a new capture card (or all in one card)? Or, keep the capture card and go with a GF?

    Depends on the display device you are going to use as the GF range have issues with certain custom resolutions.
