I think in general F1 games are boring.

Theres a new game that looks interesting, called auto assault (IIRC) but its not released yet, might be a demo now

Auto assault is a new style MMORPG so not much good for racing

I'm currently beta testing it and there is no demo available.

TBH I think consoles are far better for racing games than the pc, but if you dont have an xbox go get MotoGP3 for the PC.

I'm in the same boat as the last F1 game I played regularly was GrandPrix3 and that won't run properly since I've gone to Windows XP (force feedback doesn't work so it make driving very difficult).
Has anyone tried the later GrandPrix games ?

Always been a fan of Colin Mcrae rally, although the physics of the force feedback have never been as good as CM2 - probably because they have all been developed on the consoles & then ported across.

I still play Colin McRae 4 Rally a lot but it can get a little easy compared to the GrandPrix style games. I've got Colin McRae Rally 5 but am having problems with it stuttering on certain rallies

thats probably true of 'arcade' racing games

saynor, though toca 3 is due out in February, Toca 2 is still worth playing if you havent already. I think its a nice balance between a decent challenge, but still fun to play.

from what i know of the game its free to download but you only get like 1 track and 3 cars. then you purchase a license to obtain the rest of the game. it tells you all you need to know on the site. i think LFS is an online racer only

this is where i can cease to help im afraid. ive never played the game and only heard great things from a friend about it. what do you mean you cant sort it ? cant connect or see games etc ? maybe down to a firewall/router and you need to allow ports to be forwarded

Well i tried it the once very quickly and from what i recall it says you needs SF2 or SF1 to play this and then far left was demo! so then i thought maybe this game is a game you buy rather than download !?!?! will have to look into it more laters

I take it you don't have a motorbike license! :rotfl:

Tried countersteering on this yet? If its ANYTHING like the first one, you can't and its pretty fundamental on a motorbike.

In short, you turn right by pushing the right handlebar out/away from you or effectivley turning left ;) Turn left on a console and you either go left or lowside/highside.

Wouldnt be so bad if this game didn't claim to be a simulation.....

Look at GTR, Grand Prix Legends (with mods), F1 challenge (with all it mods). All of these need a decent force feedback wheel and they are very realistic. A good Rally game is Richard Burns Rally. What spec pc you got?

I dont knwo spec but i know its good enough to play all upto date games...... the PC was built by brother so wasnt off the shelf either

Get GTR then. Also get yourself a logitech driving force pro. This was designed for the PS2 but is superb for PC.
