It's Project CARS mate But yeah enjoy it whilst it lasts. Us PC sim heads don't get alot of love with new sims but when they do come out they set the benchmark and are designed to last years.

This is the next generation we are seeing right now, bit like when GTR2 and rFactor came along. GTR2 at the time was visually ahead of anything and we are seeing that again now with pCARS and GTR3, that shot is 100% unedited btw directly from the game.

rF2 i'm not fussed about right now, it's gonna need a good year to mature to we see the best from that. Once the modders sink their teeth into it, it will possibly be THE sim. rFactor was the same, started slow and matured and basically became the sim of choice the last few years alongside iRacing.

But it's really exciting right now to be a sim fan.

I thought I'd update this thread with a little news about tracks.

It looks as though Bathurst will be featured in GTR3:

...and before that Circuit Park Zandvoort was confirmed as licensed and returning to the series:

So a couple of great circuits there. Simbin games always feature great track line-ups so hopefully more will follow soon.

I'm eager to know more about this game. Things are very slow on the GTR3 front. Just wondering if they've managed to get any licensed race series again such as the WTCC or anything FIA GT related. More importantly, when is this game coming out and will there be a beta?

Some more Bathurst below posted by Simbin. They are due at Gamescom and will apparently be showing something exciting. All the shots so far have not been GTR3 but an unnamed sim, some think it's the new F2P Raceroom title but one of the devs dropped a bomb and said there is no reason the shots could be for both titles. Will find out more i think after Gamescom but whatever it is, it's looking very nice graphically, both it and AC look to be the next gen sims visually.

Usually with Simbin they are kings when it comes to track accuracy without the use of Laser Scanning, so expect it to be special. About content i'm not sure right now but they normally deliver

I'm looking forward to Gamescom now.

The whole GTR3 project is shrouded in secrecy. So little is known about it compared to the other sims in the works.

The thing I love about Simbin games is the amount of content you get. Normally plenty of licensed cars and tracks so you don't need to mod the game to enjoy it. As you said, Scorz, they do a really good job with the track models too. I expect most of the tracks from the Race 07/Race Injection/GTR Evo series to make a return.

Whilst I doubt GTR 3 will be shown, the new free to play RaceRoom experience will be on display for the public to try.

Simbin need to start showing their hand with GTR3. We are seeing how Assetto Corsa is shaping up, and pCARS and rF2 are in beta, but as yet this game is a mystery. I'd like to at least see a video or something.

This is GTR3 basically. It seems this is how Simbin see the future of sims. There was rumours around that it was a TT only sim but RaceRoom will offer proper racing aswell. I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for GTR3 any time soon, GTR3 was announced before the take over of Simbin by the new guy. It seems right now at this point in time RaceRoom is the sim they are concentrating on.

Free to play can work well if done properly. Raceroom looks a great package IMO and well worth getting excited about. We will just have to be patient and see how it all pans out.

Well this is a shame if this is what GTR3 has become. Don't get me wrong, it looks decent, but it's not what I was hoping for. F2P just isn't a model I'm interested in.

Still, let's see what happens. At least with rF2, AC and GSC we have plenty of options.

yeah will reserve judegment for when it comes out, a few years ago I said I would never ever join up to iracing and now I'm pretty much 100% on the road side haha! Last year I said I would never ever buy rfactor2 but here I am playing it every week waiting for them to release new stuff.

This is probably more likely the case. I'm sure there would have been an announcement if GTR3 had been canned.

GTR2 and the Race series were very successful games in the pc racing world. There is huge interest in GTR3 so I'm not sure a free to play game is really going to satisfy the fans.

Is Raceroom really going to be GTR3?

Raceroom looks like an old graphics engine, and probably using the same physics from Race series, understandable if it's free to play.

From the screens I've seen of GTR3, it looks like an all new graphics engine far better than the footage/screens of raceroom. I hope GTR3 is still on.
