Can't quite believe this legendary actor has passed on http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/celebritynews/11666316/christopher-lee-dies-live.html

As a villain in the prequels, he was an inspired choice. No doubt his friendship with Peter Cushing played a large part in his being picked for the role of the "charismatic Separatist leader". I remember him being interviewed ahead of the release of Attack Of The Clones (which the boy and I watched at the weekend - what a richly layered film it is) and he would give nothing away about his character, citing how he kept secrets during the war.

Check out any number of interviews he gave about his role in Star Wars; he was clearly pleased as punch to be involved in the series and summed up the films perfectly in just one word: "magic".

A sad loss to the film world, but look at the legacy he left behind.

Sad news. 93 isn't a bad age to go though, and what a career!

A real shame, such a great actor. His scene with Obi-Wan in AotC where he revealed Sidious' plot was one of my favourite bits in the prequel trilogy,
shame he had such a poor death scene in RotS.

As death scenes go, I'm not sure how more dramatic you can get than the way he went out in RoTS!

But, yes, he's absolutely mesmerising in that scene in AoTC. It's hard to tell sometimes when Dooku is being sincere in that film. When he says he could do with Qui Gon's help right now, I've always felt that he means it, that somehow he's realised he's got himself into something that is bigger than he anticipated. Poor Dooku!

Fantastic Actor and a real coup for Lucas to have him involved.

He didn't even have a problem acting against greenscreen, saying he was used to acting opposite nothing, based on some of the actors he'd worked with!

I don't think actors with a lot of theatre work on their resumes do struggle with green screen, it's all about imagination ! Christopher Lee was absolutely blinding in the prequels, so much presence, so much gravitas. Tremendous in everything I've seen him in, may he rest in peace.

Proof that actors today need to learn their trade before poncing about in front of the camera.
