There are 3 reviews of the Humax LGB-32TPVR on the AVforum reviews section:-

Personally I would buy a separate LCD, and separate Freeview PVR. Why buy 1 box, when you can have 2!
    Seriously, you could get:-

    1) A better LCD screen, read the forums, I am not going to suggest one, they all have warts (some small, other big). It depends on YOUR requirements, and sources.
    2) A user friendly PVR, with larger and easily upgradable HD.

Yes, there's always the problem with a jack-of-all-trades product that when something goes wrong, they can be difficult to fix. Seperates are a better idea.

It's at the lower price in the 'Today's Special' section and either way, when you get to the checkout it comes in at the lower price - not that I've gone and bought one though. (I *may* have bought one to evaluate for 30 days from QVC though . . . but perhaps wouldn't want to admit it if I had! :D )

    This is from Scan:

Well I'm not greatly impressed so far and I don't expect to be keeping this model for much longer - never mind the 30 days! :thumbsdow

Most of the time (90%) there seems to be some 'lip sync' problems where the video lags behind the audio. Apparently this is a known phenomenom with some TVs these days. Well not for me, I just cannot stand it! The effect varies between a lag of between 0.1 and 0.25 seconds, which may not seem much but really spoils it for me. The only time this doesn't happen is when watching from the internal Freeview tuner.

The other big problem so far is the colour setting. I've tried several times now - including using the THX tests on my T2 DVD and the colours just seem to be a bit strange and I can't quite describe it. The stronger primary colours seem vibrant, but when it comes to flesh tones, especially in darker scenes, it all just goes a bit 'brown' and washed out. I've just had a quick go at lightening it up a bit - but now the lighter scenes are painfully bright.

I'll try and investigate more and I haven't had a chance to connect the PC up yet.

I'm glad to have had this experience so that I know what I don't want to be purchasing. So has anyone else bought this model recently?

Oh well, for me It's back now to watching out for my favourite (at the moment) being available at a good price - the LG 32LP1D.

Most of the stuff sold on QVC is cheap crap form cheapo companies. Plus i can't stand the utter tripe they come out with :thumbsdow

I would'nt even dream of buying any electrical items from them!

Humax freeview PVR's are not that bad, there's a new PVR-9200T twin tuner version out soon. The existing PVR-8000T is highly regarded, although it only has 1 tuner.

I agree regarding homeshopping channels, have you seen the mobile phone one on sky, the "sketches" are so bad they are "almost" funny.

That's 2 recent LCDTV's advertised recently on QVC (the Sagem and now this Humax) that a few have sent back on here. Thanks for getting them and trying them out, at least from your feedback we now know what they are like. Cheers. ;)
